How it works

Methodology

KBeauty Signal ranks K-beauty products using a weighted score built from product data, Korean market signals, observed search and trend data, and AI-assisted analysis. Rankings are for discovery and comparison — not medical advice or a guarantee of results.

Ranking inputs

  • Product names and brands are normalized so duplicate listings are matched consistently.
  • Multiple beauty-specific inputs are used as product and demand signals.
  • Search and trend sources are key market signals, but do not dominate the ranking.
  • Additional supported sources contribute confidence and discovery signals only.
  • Products are grouped into the site's supported K-beauty category structure.

How products are scored

Each source score is normalized to a 0–100 scale before weighting. Primary product, search, and trend signals carry most of the score. Supporting inputs are capped so no single source can decide placement on its own.

How data is analyzed

1

Data collection

  • Product data, brand info, and category mapping
  • Korean market sources: retail rankings and availability signals
  • Search and trend signals from market APIs
2

Normalization

  • Standardize product names and brands to handle duplicates
  • Map products into consistent internal categories
  • Clean inconsistent or noisy source data before scoring
3

Signal scoring

  • Each signal is scored on a normalized 0–100 scale
  • Examples: category relevance, market availability, search demand, trend movement
4

Weighting

  • Signals are combined using an internal weighted model
  • Core signals (product fit and trend) carry more weight
  • Supporting signals are capped so they don't dominate the final score
5

Ranking logic

  • Final score determines relative ranking position
  • No single source can decide placement on its own
  • Rankings are designed for comparison, not absolute truth
6

AI-assisted processing

  • AI helps organize product information and improve matching and categorization
  • AI improves review quality and readability of product copy
  • AI is not a paid ranking factor — it does not raise or lower rank

What may affect rank

  • Search result-volume estimates, matched result position, and related shopping data
  • Trend index movement and recent observed demand changes
  • Rank, rating, review count, and appearance across supported Korean beauty sources
  • Category fit, product-name matching quality, and duplicate handling
  • Manual corrections when product names, brands, categories, or links are clearly wrong

Affiliate independence

Some shopping links are affiliate links. If you click one and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate commission is not used as a ranking signal, and products may appear without affiliate links.

Limits

  • We do not sell ranking placement.
  • We do not raise a product's rank because it has an affiliate link.
  • We do not guarantee that a retailer page, price, promotion, or stock status is current.
  • We do not make medical, dermatology, or treatment claims.
  • We do not guarantee that source data is complete, error-free, or updated in real time.

Updates and corrections

Rankings may change when sources update, products are rematched, or new search and trend data is collected. Product names, brands, images, categories, and outbound links may be reviewed manually. If something appears incorrect, please contact us.
